Hi all
This is my first attempt at doing scenery.
For this I did a what I think a simple diorama.
I wanted something to put locos etc for photographing abit like what Ian55 has done.
Both taken on my iphone.
This one is taken using the Hipstamatic app

This was taken using the 645PRO app

Also I wanted to try my hand at posting a picture (haven't been very confident at doing this)
I tried one side with C track and the side is with a old 2rail track (as I don't have any K track)
I,m some way off from building a layout so this is just practice.
All comments/critiques welcome good or bad.

Hi Tony,

Allow me to be first to say well done!! - from what I can see it looks to be a good job, and if your first attempt, all the better. You are one step ahead of me.

Using a bit of spare 2-rail track for a storage siding is fine, so long as you never need to 'park' a Loco in there (unless it's an elok and you have overhead)

The image size is quite small though, is that a conscious choice on your part?, the iphone should be able to take much higher resolution than this.

Using sites such as image shack is ok, but if you also have the image stored on your local PC or Laptop then you can also tick the "Attach files to this post?" option and when asked for the file to upload just browse to where it is saved on your PC and click 'Upload'.

All the same, you've passed your first scenery milestone and your first image-posting milestone. Time you shouted yourself a beer I reckon ThumpUp

Hi Tony,

It looks great and the type and colour of ballast works well with sceneryThumpUp

I did the same as you – worked on a little diorama to practise the scenery skills...

Make sure you post some more photos of your progress and yes, bigger screen sizes please!

Thanks guys for your comments.
I didn't make the pictures too big, abit conscious of file size. Thats fine though I will increase size in future.
I used a Scenery starter kit and Heki Ballast-Basalt.
Need to have a crack at hills and rocks next.
Cheers

Hello SNAFU
Great start ThumpUp Rocks are not hard at all, do you have any idea of what materials you want to use? Smile
for myself i found at that you will get a much better result if you are not afraid to blend turf types etc.. makes more depth and not just a monotne setting..

Again, Great start with ballast. Keep on posting pictures and stuff..ThumpUp ThumpUp
