Hi Paul

I have the Roco 78524 in my collection as well and also ordered the 37755. Will be interesting to compare the two and should look really good having them both on the layout. I suppose it will be a bit of an overkill to make a consist of the Roco and Marklin units. BigGrin I will need a lot of wagons!

Do you believe they will delay the start of manufacture until all 500 units are pre-ordered?

1)Locomotive may be yellow??? 2) I find it strange that the sound for 37753 would be taken from somewhere else.

1 - It has those yellow/red roof end marker spades as you also have with the wooden D-loco like eg 3170 - Not a yellow loco... BigGrin

2 - Should be the same sounds...

It is the translation.

A-ändesskärmar. It is the yellow and red disc that is displayed at the cab end.

Roco included these on some Da models.

For further information on the yellow and red discs. This information was passed onto me from Sweden via a friend.

The flags You ask about is what we in Sweden call "framändesskärmar".
They show what end of the lok is forward when you have lok with 2 cabs.
They dissapeared in june 17 1973.
They were replaced with an A and B marking in each end.

From the latest newsletter (loosely translated by Google)

Since there was great demand for a
corresponding Trix model of our special Dm3 we
will also have a Trix DC version manufactured!

Hello George

You can pre-order both items, or if you do not mind shopping around on E-Bay, you may be able to find the items after they have been delivered to the "conventional" dealers.

If you want to pre-order the loco follow this link to order, i do not know if this item is available from other dealers.
http://www.modellhobby.se

The wagons is available from most other dealers.

Hi all!

We´ve got some news (directly from modellhobby):

Ljusfunktioner:

Translation:

Light functions:
A. 2 full effect headlights down, forward and 1 red light up, rear. They will change with the direction.
B. 1 auxiliary upper llight could be turned on.
C. 2 half effect lights down, forward and 1 red light up, rear. They will change with the direction.

Propably the light functions will be the same on the standard 37753 edition.

It does look good with the wheel flanges in silver and not red. Pity that Roco makes all their stuff in plastic. Even then i did order the IORE LKAB and have their Dm3 (78524).

At the store I saw the wagons set: they are very beautiful and the quality of manufacturing / construction is very good. The dumpster is all metal ....(should I say : THE SKIP ?)
The only thing I regret: painting deserved to be slightly weathered .... Especially the painting of the body (dumpster). As they used to do formerly on the roof of coaches : lightly shaded....

A big mistake Roco often forget is to make right with the details, as the red mark around the wheels missing ThumbDown

From drawing to manufacture goes way too fast without controls Crying

Unfortunately has also Märklin done the some wrong details, like adding the close stick bottom of the doors on El12 Glare

The Special Edition of Dm3 from Luleå will be delivery under Q1 2014 Cool

I am actually happy that delivery of 37755 is postponed into early 2014, due to personal economy reasons...

Must be the first time ever in history that I'm happy with a delivery delay by M... BigGrin

Thanks for the link! I wonder what kind of motor it is. It doesn´t look like any motor I´ve seen in any Märklin models. Hopefully it performs well.

What red mark do you mean, the red stripe around the wheels? I can't see on the fuzzy jpg which locos the marklin ones are models of; it is possible that the different locos have different looking wheels but I never saw hints of that bright red on the real locos, or a lot of other things I see on the marklin.

Scroll down a bit in this album to see the locos the rocos are models of:

Photo from 1960: the roco model is right, one wheel is a bit red/brown (on newer photos they are not).

When it comes to controls please let me know what you mean, but I happen to have seen that marklin uses what looks like 1990s IT to do at least some of their drawings.

Unfortunately has also Märklin done the some wrong details, like adding the close stick bottom of the doors on El12 Glare

The Special Edition of Dm3 from Luleå will be delivery under Q1 2014 Cool

thank you so much for all your pictures, this is the first time I've seen prototype photos and some excellent scenery from Norway and I assume Sweden.

I have just seen this Marklins new standard Dm3 model in the hobbystore in my hometown.
It was ugly!
Not even same shape as Rocos!!
Some details was unreality like on the roof of Dm3.
Not even close to prototype...

I hope the 37755 will look better...

Those SAB-wheels on the 37753 are ugly, proper oldtimer spoked ones as on the Norwegian version look much better...

But it's all up to what time period the model is supposed be from...

Dm3 with SAB-wheels, but with modern wagons...
