Isn't the price discount the whole point of the "Loco of the Month"?

The link I've followed from Stephen's post above clearly states that the Locos are offered at an "extremely attractive price"

You think so?

I quite like these TRAXX locos. I already have the Piko version of this model.

Anders was referring to last year's loco of the month (SNCB Traxx), not this year's loco of the month (DB Lollo).

I would not be surprised if Anders dislikes them both - neither is his era.

I like 'em both.

The Lollo is not really nice IMHO, but since only nine and a half have been made, it is something special. The early beginnings of the very successful V 160 family.

I am surprised that Marklin has any of these left.

I picked one up earlier in the year when they were being sold off prior to the takeover.

It is a very nice loco and has good sound effects with smooth running.
A little bit different from the normal V160s.

Beige or grey?

One MRR company made a Lollo in TEE livery (red/beige) with the number 218 217 - I'd call this a fantasy model (number and livery do not match the mould).

The Lollo in purple red and stone grey did exist, this was the early livery of the V 160 prototype locos. Trix 22175/Märklin 37741 shows this livery.

I checked on the Lokshop website and it shows as no longer in stock.

How does one go about getting one of these "Loco of the Month" offers if they are no longer in the shops?

It's the September loco of the month.
Usually it takes a few days till the offers appear on the web.

AFAIK Märklin offers the loco to the dealers at a special price - and the dealer may or may not order it. The dealer may not get the amount he ordered, so before taking orders from customers he awaits confirmation from Märklin.

Dealers do not get compensation for locos they still have in stock.

I find the V160 Lollo very beautiful, especially in the colors of the first prototypes, like Marklin 37741
So you see how tastes can differ.

I quite like the looks of this loco. I was always after one of the original models from Marklin, the 3679/3379, or the train set 2664.

The new tooling is much more desirable, but I had to leave it off my list for budget reasons.

It's funny that some find it ugly, but then I always think the Pennsylvania GG1 is hideous, and can't understand why people say they like it.

As they say, there's no accounting for taste!

True, Ray. No accounting for taste. As for me, a native New Yorker, who had seen the GG1

many times as kid, it always reminded me of a whale! My dad and uncle's family business

was on west 23rd street in Manhattan and during Christmas week (off from school days)

they would take my brother and I to the Lionel showroom where we would watch many

GG1s running. Also, we would see the real thing at NY's Penn station. Once they took us

for a business trip with them to Philadelphia and we were pulled by a GG1. That was so exciting

when I was 10 in 1963. Cheers,Peter BigGrin

Hi.

I bought few days ago, not 37107, but Märklin 37109.

One thing happens: When blower sound is on, and the whistle is turn on, the blower sound automatically disappears...

Does this happens with Märklin 37107?

I have also experienced this a few years ago with a 39401... By that time i've changed it for another locomotive...

But i will not do the same with this one, such a great (heavy) locomotive!

...thought Märklin have improved this aspect (decoder, do i think...) Huh

Regards.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. In the German product database they call it "mit seriell schaltbaren Geräuschfunktionen" - serially playable sound functions (sometimes this gets lost in translation).
The loco has an El Cheapo sound module (not a sound decoder) and can play only one sound at any time.
