Hi Guy's. Please look at the picture , are these buffers original made by Marklin or were the electric lights added and modified outside the factory ? I have never seen a version like this before . 20-VOLT-AC attached the following image(s): |

Hi Neil
I have a similar pair but without the light on. Made in the 50s as far as I know.
I'm sure the more learned amongst us will tell you specifically about yours.

It is 462 B Buffer stop with light in the 1940 marklin catalogue. http://lctm.atarrabi.org...arklin/pdf/MA1940_DE.pdf see page 16 (PDF 3MB) |

Well using my detective skills I think they were made by M itself. The buffer has a cut out for the wire which I don't think a person who modified it would do, though you never know? Peter

Hi,
the cutting-off of rear side of the socket of the left example does not seem to be made by Märklin in my view.

Markus Hello, I agree with Markus. I show you two buffers, one is a very early one from 1939, the other one from 1941 (?), both have the marking " Made in Germany" above the hole for the light. Regards Wolf
