I replaced the preinstalled mfx decoder in 37902 with mSD 60946. Central station 60214 is able to recognize the mSD but the motor does not run. The lok is fitted with SDS motor and as per the mSD manual, I configured CV 52 to select value 1 (Motor - Softdrive Sine) and CV 56 to 0 (0=PWM without feedback for sine). Still the motor does not move. Is there any other CV value I need to configure to make this work.

Maybe.
Locos with SDS normally have AUX4 always on (with some locos it's AUX3).
And even worse: the original decoder has AUX3 and AUX4 without amplification while the new decoders have them amplified. In the worst case the decoder will not work in that loco (the list on page 25 could be incomplete).

Don't panic yet, first check the settings of the old decoder (whether AUX3 or AUX4 are always on).

Edit: According to Stummi's Forum, the 37904 does work with the new mSD decoder (but they also say that 39120 does not work (39123 is on Märklin's "no go" list)).
So still don't panic yet.

Thanks Tom. I am not sure where to set the AUX 3/4 in 60214. The interface is a bit confusing. I have to do something with CV 49, 17 and 18 but not sure how to do it in 60214.

Hi sdh,
it is not recommended to use this mSD 60946 inside a SDS-loco which requires either AUX3 and/or AUX4 unamplified decoder outputs to be set on constantly (while driving and while standing still). The 37902 requires to have AUX4 constantly unamplified "on". AFAIR only few SDS locos (39325, 39320) do not require to have AUX3 or AUX4 "on". See this incomplete list:
http://www.stummiforum.d...amp;t=69124&start=25

But on the other hand, there is a positive report, that the 37904 (also a BR 290) will work with the mSD:
http://www.stummiforum.d...amp;t=69124&start=33
No idea if the 37904 has a newer, different main PCB inside which do not requires AUX4 anymore?

For your purpose you will need a specialized mSD: 60940 for Sinus
http://www.maerklin.de/d...uche%2Fproduktsuche.html

Will be coming soon.

And the AUX3/4 function mapping should be done via the mfx-function-mapping UI in the CS2:

Good luck and a nice weekend

Thanks Mafi. I guess it is better to wait for the special sound decoder for SDS motors. In the mean time I had a fx BR86. I used the kit to upgrade it after changing the firmware with the steam locomotive sounds. It is working perfectly.
