Yesterday, I bought an ÖBB Rh 4010, a former "Transalpin" railcar in EuroCity livery. It's a used Roco item (but in a nearly new condition), catalog number is 43898. Now it awaits digitalization, and I'm looking for the three additional cars.

Sorry, no pictures yet.

Hi Kristoff,
It's the DRG version of the Baden IVh which was also released as a new item in 2008 (39021) and is Blue.
It is quite a different animal both in the prototype and model from the S3/6 Class 18, which in the prototype turned out to be a way better Lok as it was a newer developement, hence Marklin has made heaps of them but all in old style technology, which short of a throwawy can motor we are stuck with (ie 5 star/pole motors) with the demise of SDS ThumbDown

Thanks to all !

A quick feedback on these locos:
-all metal bodies for both (V320 is very heavy)
-many plastic parts on the E95...a bit disappointing; pantographs are very fragile; I had a mess with my catenary, and it took one hour to rebuild the pantos (damn' tiny springs Crying )
-twin motor for E95 ! ; all decoders works OK (programmed in DCC mode on CS2) and locos run fine;
-put Märklin close couplers on both;
-the v320 is very long (264mm); with v320, you must set the first wagon with also close couplers; if not, derailment will occur with old relex wagons

I'm satisfied, but the E95 must be handled with care.

Cheers

Hi Fabrice,
Both lovely Loks, I admire the bigger ones too, but can't help thinking, beware the fancy non Marklin Lok Huh

I haven't got all the M ones I'd like to have as yet, so I don't go playing in other manufacturers Catalogues. (read my signature Wink ) I do have a couple of particular Roco wagens tho, and when browsing the Brawa Catalogue for Ribbon cable the other night, some of their Wagens did catch my eye Drool

Thanks! Great addition to my 37491 metall edition. BigGrin Now I only need 3 more and the GG-collection is complete. Now I only need some space to run these monsters. And I´m sill waiting for my 37628 Kansas City F7.

I have the 37491 too.I am looking for 37492 on ebay.It is a little difficult to find the loco in a good price.The tuscan red is very impressive color.

Pity you had to make us work so hard at finding the pics. Why didn't you just post them here? BigGrin

Sorry about that Ray but Webmaster made a post a few days ago about doubling up on postings, as it just needlessly, uses up miles of bandwidth, especially where pics are involved, and if we run over the monthly allocation, guess who has to pay Scared poor Juhan ThumbDown

Hey Everyone,

Very nice additions!

@Glen: The worst part about the throw away can motors is that they mostly aren t avaiable anymore...

The high quality can motors in Marklin's high end locos are very often made by well known manufacturers such as Maxon and Faulhaber, and are used by many other manufacturers in their models. It should be possible to get replacement motors directly from the manufacturers, even if Markin do not stock them any more.

Nice one Steven,
I have the 37773 weathered version I bought a few years ago from Lokshop when they lowered the price to get rid of them Sneaky

They have a Faulhaber or Maxon can motor, which is why the model "run smooth".

Hey Everyone,

@Ray: That s an option too :-). Do you btw have an idea who produces the motors in the hobby traxx or br81?

@Glen & Steven: I wish they lowered the prices over here, it s a real beauty!
