Another new item for me.......

Picked up at the Palmerston North Rail-X show over the weekend, from Dion at Toottoot.

It's a Z Gauge 81564 starter set with a couple of extra freight cars I picked up 2nd hand, also from the show (some extra track as well). The first and third cars came with the set, the second and the container car at the rear I picked up 2nd hand.

I've got it running around the top of my entertainment centre cabinet - that's my Linn LP12 turntable you can see in the top left of the picture.

Could be Ian!

But, I'd better finish the other one's first!

Another observation - I find the Z Gauge track quite delicate, it is easy to get the joins riding over the joiner clips. Care must be taken!

While I was buying the set from Dion, he showed me a device he is developing (he's an electronics engineer by trade). It's a module for a schattenbahnhof, it combines a k83, braking module and sensor detectors all in one. It can control 4 tracks, and can be programed to release trains in sequence or randomly. Dion also indicated that additional components for extra tracks could easily be added. He expects cost to be around $250 NZD, and should have some available for sale by the time of our Railex exhibition in late October.

Yes Jeremy.
There are two! Our summer house is not so far away, only 40 km from home. Home is near Oslo (only 15 minutes by train), where my regular MMR dealer has his Märklin Shop in Shop.
40 km west of Oslo is a city called Drammen. In Drammen, quite close to our summer house, is another MMR shop.

My wife and mother in law often goes to Drammen for shopping, but I prefer to stay in the summer house. I am not very found of shopping (one or two "p" in shopping?).
But one day I will join them, under one condition; a visit to the MMR shop.

@Ian - The kondensers, very very nice, always wanted one, waited too long and couldn't find one at all, then Robert (RJFTrains) purchased a collection
that had one and I bit the bullet. Dr. Fanelli's site has some great Kondenser photos and a great Snow Diorama where he has hitched the Kondenser to
a Snowplough.

@Svein - that shopping plan is a great idea and I am sure would be approved by Synove.

Hi Jeremy,
Me too, and thought I was on to one on Monday early morning, only to be out bid at the b last moment Glare
It was a 34171 which is a Delta version of the 1978 Insider Klass 52 which also came in a Digital Version 37171 Wink

Being Delta I thought it would be a bit of a bargain, and I was going to put a Loksound V4M4 in it anyway with the latest correct sound project for Condensers. Sad

Don't think a Condenser would be prototypical with a Snowplow somehow Confused

Hi all,

I got my Schienenzeppelin 88761. It's a 2010 new item, initially announced for Q3/2010.
Now we have Q3/2012 and rollout has begun.

It comes in a wooden cigar chest.

The Märklin number "84735,11", though that is on the box - I don't think you'll find it in a catalogue.

In Koll's Special Catalogue the number is 4735.95708.

It's a very nice loco, and was the follow-up to the 3751 "Heizerlok" which is also one of my favourites of modern electric locos.
