Yes, That will be all right, You can use this topic if purchase in 2012.ThumpUp

This topic will never be locked.

To clarify, this topic should include locomotives ordered / purchased in 2012 and delivered in 2013. Only include in the 2013 topic locomotives purchased, paid for, and delivered in 2013. As an example, that means I have 2 more posts to make, as I have 1 loco on it's way, and a 2nd loco with Mike from Euromodeltrains (not yet paid for), as he is waiting for some other stuff to arrive, which will obviously be delivered in 2013. /BDNZ

I bought a BR 59 (Märklin 37058) earlier this year, used but in good condition.
The loco entered my dream list back in 2002 when I bought my first Märklin catalogue (in the '70s the catalogues came free).
It's something special with a wheel configuration 2-12-0. The Märklin RRP also makes it something special, therefore it went on my dream list (not wish list) back then.

And finally my last loco purchase in 2013 (unless I get weak in the next three hours Wink) is the BR 56.2-8 (Märklin 37563), the second 2012 H0 Insider model. I received the notice on December 22 and fetched her on December 24, but unpacked her just today. First impression is very good.

Hi Tom,
You have great taste in Loks, a very nice pair ThumpUp

I got my '59 (37054) a few years ago and the '56 is on the way. The 2-12-0 config at least makes it worthy of display, and a nice runner Smile (even tho I find those display cases a too big and cumbersom)

Happy New Year to you & All from NZ BigGrin

I see I should post this years new item purchases, all three ordered at differrent times during the year, all shipped around Xmas, but none arrived in NZ yet, in this topic ! Got it Dave Wink

Hi All,

My Borsig P10 arrived today in it's somewhat over sized package Huh

When I removed the Lok from the plastic protection case I thought, gee a 2-8-2, awfully like the Klass39, bet it's got the same Marklin chassis anyway. Confused Then I placed it on the track for a brief test, and the sounds, whilst very good, confirmed my suspisions, sounds just like my two '39's. I then checked the M database to read the '39 was formally the P10 Glare duh !!.

All I can say is good on you Marklin for milking the moulds and technology, we do want you to survive, don't we gang !! RollEyes However I think the boiler and certainly the tender are different , details are great on both. ThumpUp

Anyhow it's a very, very, nice model, a nice dark green, with redish brown wheels. All you guys who's FD says you don't need another red and black Steam Engine could justify it ThumpUp Wink

However the 408eu, (preorder price) shipped from LS makes it a very pricey model, nice as it is. Wub

I have just today identified a spot in my lounge, out of the sun, where my three Marklin display case models will hang, never mind the Painting, ! (others are the Bellingrodt '05 and '59) and I think they'll hang in that order from the top with the P10 at the Bottom Smile, and no I don't intend to collect the set of 5 Borsigs Scared
(Buggar Me I'm libel to get told off for a doing a review here and get shifted off to the My Trains thread Wink Scared )

I will not yield to temptationUnsure Unsure Unsure

I will leave the train sets in pristine conditionBlink so that the boys can have the initial fun of opening a brand new train set, and have the same enjoyment as I did, when I first got my trainset (1957)ThumpUp ThumpUp

It was that zebra livery that really got my attention and the feeling....MUST HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Blushing Blushing Blushing Blushing

Although when I registered the loco on the CS2, it went through the usual process but it came up as an E10, without an icon - just question marks, and the whistle icon was the engine sound and the engine icon was the whistle soundConfused Confused Confused Confused Confused

But it runs beautifullyThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

I've been considering getting it for the blue and cream version, which is not available seperately. I'm quite fond of locos in those colours!

I don't know what I would do with the silver one, though.

Please don't lock this thread (I don't know who locked it), as we still have updates to post. Don't forget, that at this time of year it can take 3 to 4 weeks for stuff to arrive here in NZ and Oz from Europe, so we might still be posting to this thread in late January/early February!

Still have to get used to all the buttons and settings on the 60D!

I still have one outstanding loco ordered in 2012 to be posted here later on. As far as I know it hasn't left the US yet - waiting for some other stuff to arrive.

This pair arrived in Country last Friday, but only picked them up from the airport yesterday after HMNZCS relieved me of $NZ121 Cursing . Not so bad considering the other two Loks and their packages escaped and this one was the lowest value Wink . Two MFX with full sound Loks cost less than than the Borsig with display case ThumpUp untill the taxation ThumbDown, which made them about the same value Crying

The two Loks have individual packaging as I've tried to show contained in an overall package, nicely done Marklin ThumpUp

The Lok displayed here is 85.001 era IIIa with gold lettering. Fitted the smoke unit last night and gave her a run, sounds and functions all good except start syncronisation not good ThumbDown , you hear the brake hiss on opening the throttle, but the Lok is rolling before chuffing sounds kick in, and then they're way out of sync, will get Dennis to tune it on his CS2 Wink

A little history. My first Marklin's were two cars my sister bought me when she was in Germany for a school trip, that was 25+ years ago. I could never use them on my DC layout as the wheel sets would short it out. So I always wanted Marklin. I always imagined and drooled over one day owning and running a Green Croc engine (any one really) from the the catalogs my sister brought back. About 12 years ago on my honeymoon to germany I bought my first starter set. JOY JOY JOY, no Green Croc Engine. Back in the states I got a second starter set..nope no green croc engine. then for Christmas my wife got me three wonderful passenger cars. no green croc engine. But for christmas I was also given some extra spending money...enough to buy a Green Croc Engine...I told my wife I needed it to pull the three beautiful passenger cars she got me. I got home thinking my new Green Croc Engine (37227) would work with the Delta system I had...AHHHHH. So I went back and got the MS digital...again convincing my wife I needed the digital to run the engine to Pull the wonderful passenger cars she got me for Christmas.

BTW...Pictures are not my own

Nice set of locos you've got there Glen. You can never have too many steam engines!

The nice folks at HMNZCS just nailed a parcel of mine, worth about $420 NZD, only $20 over the $400 limit. So, they charged me $62.50 GST (the GST free limit is meant to be $60), plus all the other fees, a total of $100 extra. The crazy thing about all this is that the 2 Gauge 1 loco/railcar you see earlier in this thread, worth $1800 and $1600 respectively, sailed straight through customs without issue. I suppose I shouldn't complain, as I've got the better side of the deal, but it still seems a bit random to me!

Hi David,

Thanks for that Smile

At the Airport NZ Post Centre, where the parcels are checked and held if required, they told me that it is random, they just pluck them off "the belt", presumably one that carries them thru the Xray machine. Bigger cartons they don't bother with, only small easily handled ones maybe. Confused Wink
I asked Lokshop to break the shipment into three, when everything showed up at once on the "order status" they sent me 3rd week December. I hate to think if they'd grabbed the only one Sneaky OhMyGod

I was a bit miffed, as all the three loks had been ordered at completely different times in the year, and at that time they didn't all say 12/12 production either.

I'd have to give Lokshop full marks for cooperation and especially packaging, but thats another thread Wink

Hmmm, now there's a plan... Sneaky

Get everything sent in big boxes!

However, I suspect they stop big boxes sometimes, a few years ago, two of our club members had 1 Gauge Croc's come through customs on the same day. One box got stopped and charged, the other sailed on through. You can imagine what the guy whose box got stopped had to say about that! Sad Crying Crying

The author of Thomas the Tank Engine was a clergy, Rev. Awdry. Side note family was on vacation in London this past summer my kids got their own Hornby trains. I had never used Hornby before and they are really nice. I am integrating them into my Marklin layout so the kids can play as well. As of now they will just run standard DC but I believe they can go digital with decoders as well. So much to do, so little time..so enjoy it when you can.

She's a beauty Ian! ThumpUp

She should be fitted with a Delta decoder too, so you can run her on your digital tracks.

Thanks all.

This model doesn't have sound, but it's interesting that there is a new Br78 in the 2013 new items that does have sound. Bryan told me that several people have asked Dion to convert their Br78's to digital with sound, but Dion has found it nigh on impossible to find room to fit a speaker inside the loco. A solution is often to put a speaker into a trailing wagon, with connecting wires.

It will be interesting to see where Marklin have fitted the speaker in the new model!

Great loco, David! ThumpUp

One solution I have seen recently is for the speaker to go where the old revesing unit used to be. The new decoders are so small they fit perched on top of the speaker.

I did check at new T18 but did see old drawing.
I couldn´t see speaker so this new model 2012 is still not arrive yet to market i suppose.
T18 has sound too and are new 2012.

So as You can see I have bought many locos in this around 1,5 year time period. I have had many more of them, but sold them away. To get all of these has been very expensive and I´m not an millionaire. BigGrin

PS. I know that in this thread should be pictures. It would be great to modify these locomotives Märklin numbers for links to pictures of them. Very much work though...RollEyes

My wife thinks that I´m crazy when collecting these Märklins, but even she likes the looks of them when they are in vitrines. And my boys like to see them running (me also! Smile )

So I have to say to my wife like our Formula driver Kimi Räikkönen says: "Leave me alone, I know what I´m doing".... ThumpUp

Greetings from Finland!

Janne
