That 3064, is that a v60 or the later 260 version? I still prefer the 3065, i love telex :-)

Kristof

Kristof,

3064 and 3065 are the same livery/class/version. I am note 100% sure, but I think they even have the same road number. That aside, the only real difference between the two is 3065 has telex, 3064 does not. 3141 is the Cl. 260 version in cream and green.

Hey Brandon,

That s true, but there are in both classes 2 versions, the v60 and the v260 (which is more recent). That s why I asked :-)

Hi Ian,

I don't mind the extra photos and that is also why I chose to repeat them. It's really a great looking set!!!

Had it not been that it is from an era that falls outside of what I collect, then I would have been really tempted to try get a set myself, it really looks very tempting.

Hi Per,

Thanks. ThumpUp

I bought the Set as in new condition, with the couplings still sealed in there plastic bags.

So, as yet I've not ran her, maybe on the new layout. Smile

I will need to take some photos of the Set in the display case, like you say, it all looks very nice.

I'm showing my modest collection of BV1's on BW Part III and that's how the photo's were taken.

Ian.

Just bought this 37550 on ebay. There's been a Br55-sized hole in my collection for the last few years. This one came up at a good price and I went for it.

Hi Panayotis,

Yes, it's a great size for a small layout like mine. Some of my other steamers look a bit out of place in my station or goods yard.

I'm also looking forward to the Br56 which Marklin are bringing out next year.

Really nice locomotive. I just bought the Italian version, Gr 460, Marklin # 37557. It looks perfect on any size layout I think. I would love to add the German version someday as well.

The Italian one is nice too. I think this is the loco that's been done in the most different nationalities! Maybe someone can confirm or dispute this?

Ian and Jonas:

Nice locomotives. I love the tank locomotives and I really like the diesel switchers, are they both Swedish?

Chris

P.S. This week I bought two engines on eBay, one a few days ago, Marklin 3072 (BR 212) which should arrive today and Marklin 3021 (V200). I was able to get both at very reasonable prices so I am really excited. I have been looking on eBay for sometime for both of these, so I am very happy. BigGrin

The plan is to add Loksound chips to both. Will share pictures and video when I get them.

So my BR 212 arrived today via the USPS. Then engine looks perfect and it runs great. I don't think it was run much as the slider is clean and the when I took it apart it still looked as if everything was new. So here are a few pictures. I now have to order a decoder, as I mentioned before I had planned on going with a LokSound V4 but the motor takes up alot of room, so I am not sure about speaker placement. I might be able to place the speaker next to the decoder, I think I will have to do some measuring.

That's not a switcher, it’s a universal branch line locomotive (freight and passenger trains).

The V 90 (derived from the V 100) is a switcher (lower maximum speed, but added ballast weight for a higher tractive effort).

Chris,
nice loco. Looks like new.

Thanks everyone, I am amazed it really does look like new and it runs really well well. Kristof, that is what I am thinking either on the top of the decoder or side by side with it in that general area. I will need to make a few measurements to get the right speaker size.

Hey Chris,

I have the same one, an analog version, and you are right, they run really well. It s almost a pity that you will change motors, or will you just use a magnet? Anyhow, I m very curious about the work you are going to deliver!

My own is one of my early conversions, and has a delta decoder. I really need to upgrade it to something newer, as the running at slow speeds is not great!

When I do my conversions so far I have always left the three pole motor in the engines and simply added the permanent magnet and ESU Lokpilot or LokSound and in all cases I have been very pleased. This time I plan on replacing the magnet, I will isolate the lights and convert to LEDs, add the ESU Loksound v4 chip and add a speaker. I am hoping to order the chip tomorrow from my dealer and should have them here by next weekend. If all goes well I will have the conversion done by next weekend or so. I will take pictures and post videos.
