I just came back from a day trip to Trier in Germany with two Marklin coaches from the 00764 set of bogie rebuilt coaches. They are 00764-10 (all second class), and 00764-09 (Second class and Baggage).

Pictures will follow when I get home.

Can you get a better photo of the wagon in the picture? It looks like it has some interesting artwork on it.

I didn't buy the first class coach. I thought about what I needed, and I realised that I would only be able to fit a two coach train in the station loop that I use for local trains. I chose the all 2nd class and the 2nd class with baggage.

Hi!

I bought two coach sets in 1:87 this year.
One is from Trix (31359) and consists of a green baggage car (21 cm), two green "Schürzenwägen" (24 cm each), and a red dining coach (27 cm). I have no information about the prototype.
I presume the dining coach should run behind the loco with the baggage car at the end.
Maybe I'll run the train with some more Schürzenwägen sometimes to get a longer train.

The other coach set is from Roco (64107 & 64108) and consists of three blue passenger cars (303 mm each) and a blue/red dining coach (316 mm). I've found a picture of the prototype train hauled by a BR 110.3 (blue of course).
I don't know if other locos such as BR 112, BR 103.0, BR 103.1, or BR 220/221 would be prototypically correct - or maybe even a BR 012.
H0 attached the following image(s):

VERY nice coaches Tom - would you have any problems running the "long" coaches on your layout? - I have nothing longer than 24cm, simply because of my space constraints, and R1 curves!

I like your new coaches, Tom! ThumpUp

I'm sure the train would look good pulled by any of those other locos you've mentioned, even if the DB didn't actually do so!

BigGrin Thanks Steven.

I'd like to learn more about the 4185. What year it came out and what cars and engine did it go with?

Confused

Hi George,

Nice wagons!

The 4185 was produced from 1987 to 1995, with the other two coaches 4183 and 4184. The locomotive suggested for it was the 3355 Br111 electric, also available in digital as 3655. This loco was also available in the earlier analogue 3155, and later as the Delta 33315 and the Digital (6090) 37315.

The 37315 has a different livery (red instead of orange, new DB AG logo) and is era V while these coaches are era IV (old Bundesbahn logo).

Yes that is true. Thanks Tom for pointing that out. In some photos the 37315 looks closer to the orange and white of the earlier locos, but it is definitely red.

Another couple of locos that will work with these coaches are the Br141 from the 2849 set and the Br143 3445 (with DR logos). Both are painted in the orange and white S-Bahn colours.

A day late, but here are my last 2012 acquisitions. First is a near mint Fleischmann tinplate I got out of a collection at my local dealer - quite happy in coming across this, especially in its terrific condition. Next is the Trix version of the Bt 10 pair. Last are my first (and so far only) Piko passenger cars, a pair of Bi 33's - probably my best ebay value from the past year.

Hi Everybody,

Lots of very nice new and not so new wagons since I last posted on this thread, good ones all. BigGrin

I'll post my missing ones for 2012 tomorrow but there is the Insider Set and something else, about to be sent by Lokshop, and since they charged my credit card on the 31st, NZ time, they are 2012 items but they'll be at least two weeks getting here Wink

Hi Ray,

Yes I've been keeping an eye on Faller ones on ebay, they were even in the 1962 Catalogue I got this week. Love

The problem is I'm not sure if I'll have room for it on the layout, Blink
