Hi, Joe,

Interesting track plan.
I'd try to add a reversing loop at the -80 level. Plus some shadow station tracks (sidings only with that limited amount of space).

The track plan could be optimized. Two x07 make one x15, two x15 make one x30. That would save some money and improve conductivity.
I presume all those x07 pieces are used to allow smooth transitions at the beginning and end of grades, so better keep 'em.
Regards
Tom

My apologies: I omitted to mention that this layout plan was designed by Reinoud Kaasschieter, from The Netherlands - his design was entered for the Railhobby Design Competition in 2005.
I came across it on his web page, and was really impressed by what he did. Once I have enough C track I will certainly try it out - seeing as I am limited to 2m by 1,2m!
All the info about the layout, including C track pieces needed, is on
http://home.wanadoo.nl/r...ieter/railway/rh/.en.htm
OR google: Railhobby Design Competition 200 x 120cm
The objective in the competition was to design a HO track plan, 2.0 x 1,2m, with a max of 6 turnouts.
I think he did an admirable job!!

Hi Harris
the 29151 is a super starter set! I am sure this track plan will work on a 2 x 1,1 layout.....I only have 2 by 1,2 and aim to try it out as soon as i have bought enough C track. I am slowly moving from M track (analog), to C track digital.
All the pieces that are needed are listed on Reinoud's page-see my posting....
and WELCOME to the best marklin forum ever!!
Joe

Thanks Chris!....wondered what I was doing wrong!!!
I do like this layout, it has good potential for us guys with real limited space; as I slowly replace my existing M with C, I will build it; maybe with some changes to have a bit more shunting yards..will see..
thanks again Chris, Joe

No problem. I did like the link. if you go up one level, there are more interesting small layouts to look at.
