Hi Peter,

Thanks, the next plan is to have the 2 Loco's on the same track, with 1 of them running and the other stopped (with lights on) and then hitting the reverse switch, the Loco that's moving will stop and the other start.

Or maybe not.Smile

Hi Ian

Märklin engineers were genius.ThumpUp
Such great possibilities with embedded relays.
They knew how to do a lot with nothing.

This little layout, with these original locos, is simply a treasure!

You're very welcome, Ian. Actually I've been waiting to see if you can get the two locos to work alternately as we discussed. I'm eagerly following this thread to see if you post a video!

Hi all,

Well, this afternoon, I set up my TM800 and the 1954 DA800 on the same circle, contolled by a late 1950's blue transformer.

This was to see if I could control 2 Loco's using the double reverse function Smile while under the control of one transformer.

I'll let you know in the morning how it went....with video evidence. Unsure

Ian.

Hi Nev,

Good morning, with my nearly 3 years on the forum, I might be wrong, but I don't think I've seen a video of this control of 2 Loco's before.

Or maybe, a forum member can keep me right. Smile

Hi Jacques,

Thankyou. ThumpUp

Glad you liked it, this came about after discussing it with our good friend Ray(F),after buying my 1954 DA800 that the seller had said had a problem in that it had to be "clicked" twice on the transformer to get it to reverse.

I then tried my TM800 and it also had the same function, so it was just a case of setting them up together on the same track and using the 1 transformer.

I also found that the older, the blue transformer (mid 50's) the better the control over the 2 Loco's.

Ian.

My Münstertal layout in the new train room will have a double turntable area.

I'll have 2 5106 straights between the turntables, didn't have enough space on the floor to fit it in. Smile
