Hi all,

First of all, I'd like to thank all the forum members and guests for Baden-Wurttemberg's amazing following.

In the first year, 23 pages, over 2200 replies and over 56000 views.

As you know this is my return to Marklin after nearly a 20 year break, how things had changed.

So I would like to thank (again) everyone who has helped me with getting my layout started.

I hope you don't mind, but there are 4 members, I'd like to mention, who have really helped me,right from the beginning, with my track design, helix construction, my move over to digital operation (still at a very basic stage) and day to day Marklin information.

A very BIG thankyou to (in no order) John, Ray, bryan and Stephen. ThumpUp

Ian.

And just to get my 2nd year of to a great start, my bid on a beautiful BR10 37084 was successful.Smile

Ian,

Having followed your dream right from the beginning (before it was a layout) you have worked realy hard to come this far.

Not realizing it was your 1st Year Birthday and not realizing the 400 Watt lights you've bought suppose to be candles for your Birthday cake (a hint perhaps ?), I congratulate you and your wife (assuming for putting up with it) for sharing with us, a wonderful ride along the many different tracks into a wonderland of surprises and we'll never know what is just around the corner waiting for us in the 2nd Year.

Looks like you even had to work hard to receive your own Birthday present. (successful bid on ebay)

Hi John,

Thanks. ThumpUp

But that Loco is not my Birthday present, my good friend Thomas has already arranged that.

I believe those "models" will add some excitement to the visual look of the layout.

Congrats Ian! This all proves how great our hobby is! We learn so many different things in the building of our layouts and yes, we have our favorite tasks over others, but in the long run even the ones we're not crazy about add to our creativity and talent.
Cheers, PeterThumpUp

Ian,

It looks rather small and yet when you show photos of the layout from the inside it looks huge.

How did you go with the instructions, easy to follow ?

I would need 3 of them to fit my layout into it.

Morning John,

I'm up real early loading some of the photo's of the cabin construction. Smile

The outside measurements are 6m long by 5m wide, with a small cutout where the door is.

The instructions are a bit basic, but was very easy to put together, all the logs come precut to size.

I've still got another couple of photo's to get loaded.

It is indeed very early in your part of the woods.

I nearly said, what a glorious day it is but than I've realized the photos were taken a while back.

We'll have about 30° C to day and going to a miniture village called "Abingdon".

Have to find out if it is recreated or related to Abington in Scotland.

Hi bryan,

I was at the railway on Saturday night for a little celebration, and although it was very windy and heavy rain outside, I'm sure that coming out of one of the tunnel entrances, I could hear some "chuff chuff" noises followed by what sounded like "buy me another Loco, and some track, and another MS2, and some more scenery,and....., and then as quickly as the noise appeared it was gone.

I'm not sure why, but for some strange reason, the word L-----P sprung to mind. Smile

Hope you guys are hanging in over there...or should I say holding on.

All the best.

Ian.

Hi Ian. As I am now starting layout number three if I was to look back over the years the amount spent with Lokshop I would probably give up the hobby. Although our exporters would not agree if the pound rate was to go back to 1.5 euros it would be helpful.
I keep asking Bryan to open a branch in Scotland where I reckon he would do well (being the only dealer)

Meanwhile does the new transformer come with the lead needed to attach to the CS2.

Hi Dave,

Yes, the lead that is moulded into the transformer, just plugs into the back of the CS2.

What I'm not sure about is how you can use it with the MS2 and it's track box.

That will be great to see the new layout, once you get it on a bit.
