Episode 11 is now available. It has a section on the TGV-POS, produced in Gyor and mentions that you can see the production of the Insider BR03.10 during the open days in September.

Edited by moderator 30 January 2015 20:20:47(UTC)  | Reason: Updated episode number in title.

Is someone downloading these episodes? I've got up to ep 8 (except #1), but my Insider membership has expired - am trying to renew it now.

Trouble was, Marklin never told me. I only found out when I went to view the Marklin TV shows, and found I couldn't log in to the Insider website, because they had expired the membership.

How very strange. I can log in OK, but the only TV that shows in the English page are TV 7 to 10.

There is a 'Competition August 2010' Change to win the 37915 BR03.10 if you log in.

TV.11 will be on English site next week or so.

Thankyou Stephen, I thought it may be delays for English, and that confirms it.

Pardon my ignorance, but where is the Marklin TV channel? Is it on the internet or on the Marklin website? I am an Insider Club member, so how do I access it? Precise instructions please! Thanks in advance, Alan

I may be wrong but it seemed rather shorter than previous episodes.

I liked the images from a country (Hungary) I have never visited. The machine work and hand assembly of models is quite complex, so the videos probably serve Märklin well.

How these models get to the homes of eager buyers is interesting.

Hi Kimball,
I thought it was shorter too but then I remembered that it's August in Europe and everyone (just about) is on holiday. Bet next month's is back to 11-15 minutes.

Tried that last year Bryan. After 2 calls and numerous emails, I got my credit card details to them, to which they responded that they will debit the charges when they can, but to be patient because they are experiencing some delays. To date, they still haven't passed the charge through - that was for last year's membership. For this year, I just emailed Brenda at Marklin USA, requesting whether I could use the renewal webpage on the Marklin USA site, which has fields for inputing credit card details. Brenda replied that was OK, I made the renewal via the website, and Brenda emailed me the next morning to say she had the payment details. Brenda has faxed those through to the Insider Club in Germany.

Marklin TV episode 12 is now available in German. Overview of the process of making close couplers, a Marklin shop in Sweden (but out of the way even for our Webmaster I guess) and short impressions of the 03.10 and TGV-POS.

Thanks for the correction. I had to listen twice to even catch the exact dates, so I guess I didn't pay attention to the proper event description.

Continued Insider Membership in the Southern Hemisphere - and maybe elsewhere - has been a nightmare this last couple of years. Here we are approaching the end of 2010 - and I am still waiting for Insider and Marklin Magazine packages 3,4 and 5. You can speak with some very understanding people at the Insider office, who will check that your Credit Card details are in order, but nothing arrives in the mail. What is going on?

You live in an area of the world that Marklin does not really give a toss about. eg outside of Europe and more so south of the equator,

We make up about less than 5% of their sales. (the Americas and the rest of the World)

I've sent about a dozen emails to the club regarding membership renewal, and Brenda from Marklin USA has faxed CC details twice that I know of. Yet, there is still no response, it is like talking to a brick wall. Regardless of the hype a certain forum member likes to generate regarding Marklin's supposed customer service, I'm finding that as far as the Insider Club goes it is non existent. Maybe I should send an email to Herr Pluta!

....no don't worry about south hemisphere, you are not alone, it's exactly the same for us french people from France , to take out a subscription to Marklin's Insider club always has been a nightmare ...let's say : not easy, not simple. I know some people who gave up.
I think they have a real problem with foreign countries , with foreign languages ... I had a phone call to Switzerland branch , the sercretary told me that she already has tried to warn Marklin about those difficulties...;Even if we find a first page in French to invite us to a subscription, following pages are in German...as you find some explanations in French : they are not clear, not well translated which is a little bit ennoying about : how to pay for a subscription....
We have to be very motivated to suscribe for Insider club....
I think that it is some rests of bad habits from the end of the nineties or early 2000, when Marklin was earning money easily ,as a leader of digital & innovative manufacturer on an healthy market....
Hope they will make an effort soon...
Why not to deal with retailers about it : we just fill an application form and pay there (which could be a way to promote them, as well...). why not a clear subscription on line too....

Episode 16 is now available in German. At the end of the ten minutes, it features the Ae 6/6 SBB Cargo, with a close-up from the side and just from above. The red and blue sections on the roof are clearly visible.

Interestingly, they mention it is model that should appeal not only to Swiss railroad fans. Wonder if they have certain members in mind. Wink
