Hi again,

By my estimates the DRG 44 pulled 3.5 times what the prototypes pull however they aren't loaded put some scale sized loads of metal in the wagons and see how they pull,
I reckon it may be close to the prototype and put them on a 1.5% grade

Still they are impressive.

I was always very bad at Maths in school but the following facts might be useful.....

13 cm x 300 wagons = 3.900 cm total length of the wagonsBigGrin

3.900 cm / 28 cm = 139,29 times longer than the loco BigGrin

56 gr x 300 wagons = 16.800 gr total weight of the wagonsBigGrin

16.800 gr / 709 = 23,70 times heavier than the locoBigGrin

You'd need to find some way of measuring the pullbar strength and then multiply that by 87 to give you the models tractive effort but generally they out pull the prototypes a
single 44 would not be able to pull 100 wagons on it's own I don't think but the American Big Boy could on a level track.

Hi again,

I recon if you had 31 digital loco's you could break the train into sections but how many and what carriages because 100 metal ones would weigh a bit.
and how far would it stretch.

Does the Guinness Book Of Records say anything about the carriages
