There is nothing wrong with that combination/solution. Actually I find it perfect for me also ;-)

Nice layout! These -a little darker photos- gives a very nice impression of the atmosphere there.

Hi Goofy,

Firstly thank you so much for your compliments which made me very happySmile

Secondly I must admit that the locos have no digital decoders[:(] They are all analog(hope you not mind my spellingwink)
You see I prefer the practical and the short form, like you have done with your locos by choosing analoguewink
But the motto I am using has got nothing to do with the trains at all. I really do not mean anything at all.
For one thing I have had many equipments such as videos, cell phones and cameras in digital. They did not live very long.Perhaps this is why I am writing it. I do respect all the forms including digital.I have to simply confess one thing :Digital is not my cup of tea.Hope I have been able to make your question clear.Smile

Thirdly, you are 100% right about the sound of metaltracksbiggrin I love to hear this melody...Smile

mehmet

The locos have their original analog marklin motors.Simply analogSmile

And I use old blue tranformators 6631.

But Signals and Turnouts are controlled on a computer screen with some digital circuits. But please do not ask about them brcause I hardly know about them. Some colleagues from my ex-university(You see I am retired now) have built them for me.Soon I will send the working principals of them. As I told you I am not against digital. But try to avoid it as much as possible...Cool

Everytime I see this topic I'm more and more amazed... your display of BR18's is simply.... wonderful.

(you're wondering why I'm so quiet... testing ballast with both m and c-track, of course... biggrin)

Do you also have the Hogwarts Express? (I know it's not an 18 or something like that... but it's a box I like very much (unfortunately there's not one in my collection)

Well, the counting is going with the shooting. We will all see the number together. But I think it will take a little timewinkYou see I am a bit slow....

I just wanted to put the old Marklins on the rail, because I heard some rumors/rumours(not want to lose my job-this part has nothing to do with youwink)that some BR 18's have not been running wellSmile
Tom,I wish I had another 4 Rheingolds to be pulled, but wife would not let mewink. These analogs will kill me softly,as it goes in the song....

<br />Thankyou Mehmet for posting the evocative pictures of 18 class - I like the French variations.
We are all suckers for these lovely trains.
It is OK, so long as people near us are tolerant.

How long have you been collecting Marklin locomotives to build up such a large collection? You have wonderful examples from every theme/era and you keep on adding more to the list.

Thank you for sharing them with us.

Cheers...

Well you have been collecting since before I was born. I started with Marklin back in 2006 and I have not had much money to spend since I have 3 small children. I have my starter set and some locomotives, rolling stock and M-track from a collection I purchased last year. I am hoping that by the end of the year I will have some house renovations done and then I will have opened up a room in my basement for a layout. The room will be about 11' x 12'. You can see my modest collection of locomotives on my website http://members.shaw.ca/dwatalla

Cheers...

Thank you for sharing your great collection. I thought that 36 series loc's were digital, and only since 1985. Since my oldest catalogue is no older, I have no way to cross reference your series 36 S-36 from the 70's.

Hi Spitzenklasse,

Thanks for your nice lines, which made me happySmile.

All my 36 Diesels are from between 1982-1992.As far as I know the oldest 36 goes back to 1982...
