Two of my trains are equiped with Intellisound decoders series 36020/36420 from Uhlenbrock.

Whenever there is a short circuit somewhere on the layout (for example a derailment) caused by another train, the train with the Intellisound decoder runs off at full speed in the reversed direction, and only stops when the power is cut off.

Needles to so this leads to very nasty situations in my hidden station [:(!]

Anyone knows how to solve this?

Seems that there is an bug in the decoder.
Try to reprogramming decoder...but first let decoder restoration.
You can do that at CV8...but i´m not sure in which value of CV8.

I dont think so. Both of my two trains equiped with this decoder behave exactly the same way. Two exactly the same bugs would be quite a coincidense.

I'll try a reset though. Good point.

With Uhlenbrock decoders, write value 1 into CV 59 to reset the decoder.

If it's a bug in the decoder firmware, then both decoders will behave exactly the same.

Could be a problem with the automatic analogue detection. You can turn that off using CV 29.

Is it a momentary short circuit or one that halts the system, then the loco runs away when the power is reset?

Thanks HO...!
So Uhlenbrock has CV59 to restore decoder...?
I thought all decoders has CV8 to do that.
When i did bought new digital locomotiv,i make always sure first by turn off analog function at decoders.
Because you are using digital system, that there is constant power on the tracks.
So therefore not necessary to have analog function standby in the decoders.

I keep mine with the analogue detection enabled because I occasionally run in analogue mode. I have never had a problem like the one mentioned above with Marklin or ESU decoders. I don't have any Uhlenbrock, but I was considering trying one. If this issue is common I don't think I'll bother.

Many customer are saying, that Uhlenbrocks Intellisound are and has problems with sound and driving capacity.
The Swedish model steamlocomotiv 1200 from Heljan has Intellisound and are not function 100% guarantee...! [xx(]
There was an hell lot of complaints about that...!!! [xx(]

Well like I've written in another topic (believe it was Intellisoud vs Loksound) ESU Loksound is the one to buy. The sound is far better and the driving characteristics are way smoother and less noisy.

I'm a big fan of Uhlenbrock but the combination of Uhlenbrock decoders and Marklin trains just doesn't work out that good.
