I am adding to my layout and it currently has three large ovals,R3, R4 & R5. I want to extend the R5 oval into an L shape but would to have the option of keeping the oval intact (R5). The issue I am having is that from what I see Marklin has only one straight type of wide radius turn-outs or switches that add a long straight section that would be an issue. The curved switches 24671/2 are not compatible with R5. Does anyone know of any turn-out or switch that fits into the R5 radius???

They are working on large radius curved turnouts - they might even come later this year. Or maybe next year. Or so.

We don't know yet which radius that will be.

Do you need them now? Or can you wait a few months?

When we look at the latest C track innovation, we see how quick things can happen.
The 360 mm track piece was first announced in 1998. And only few months later it appeared in the 2011 new items brochure.

It would be great if Marklin could at least publish the type of wide radius the new turn-out will be compatible with..R4, R5, etc. I am trying to complete my final loop and turntable radius and it pretty much complete but missing the R5 switch integration. From what I am reading I may be retired by the time it comes out! Oh well. I appreciate all the feed back it is nice to know I am not alone in the Marklin snail pace of development. Still love their stuff though.
