Dear all. Only having used Marklin 3 rail digital, I now find myself looking into 2 rail stuff, because of the greater verity of SNCF modern locos from Jouef. Can I use my MM2 for running DDC stuff and how do I do this please:-)

Hi!
The MS2 can run DCC locos if the firmware is not too old (an update may be needed).
Put the loco on the track and try "detect loco" (or something to that effect) or register the loco manually as DCC.
Regards
Tom

MS2 can use with mfx,MM and DCC protocol.
If you only want to use DCC with the MS2,set first DCC as protocol.
Put yours locomotive on the track alone(!) and start program by follow MS2 manual for the DCC locomotives.
This way to first accept new adress for the new locomotive to add in the MS2.
Remember...allways alone locomotive on the track,to set new adress by program.

Hi.

I'm new in the forum :)

Now continuing this as the topic is similar.

I bought GENESIS H0 66195 US DIESEL LOCOK MP15 "1431" UNION PACIFIC DCC/SOUND KR4754 with Sountraxx.
Otherwise, all is fine but why does the engine sound ceases/stops when I reverse the direction? When I give even the slightest throttle, the engine sound comes again. The track and wheels are clean. I have a loco from Walther's with Soundtraxx and the same thing happens :(

I'm running it with Märklin's Mobile Station 2.

Thanks in advance Cool

What version do you have in the MS2?
Maybe you need to upgrade to latest version into MS2.
Did you tried to reset your locomotive first?
CV 8 and write 8 in the value.

Thanks, Goofy for your reply. I have to check later as I'm not home atm.

EDIT: I have to do that CV8 = 8 also

Meanwhile, I got an answer from SoundTraxx:

"Our original Tsunami decoders are set up to shut down the prime mover when sent an E stop command. The reason this is relevant is that some command stations (especially older ones) would send out an E stop command occasionally to ensure the locomotive was stopped. Looking at the model in question it does appear to be fitted with the original Tsunami, rather than the Tsunami2 (where we made this behavior configurable) and as such your best avenue for pursuing this would probably be to contact Marklin to ask about disabling the E-stop on direction change command.

Let us know if you need any further assistance."

E stop = emergency stop?

Not sure what should I ask Märklin or what to do though.
