Hello,

Every time I disable the mfx protocol on my CS2 everything works fine until I put a mfx loco on the track: the loco auto registers and the settings on the CS2 changes, re-enabling the mfx on the track protocols.

That being said, is it a bug, is it normal behavior? Is there a way to actually disable (for real) mfx?

Which software version do you have?

I have tested this with my CS2, software version 3.8.1 (11). Mine does not enable mfx if I switch the CS2 to DCC only and put on an mfx loco.

Hi,

What if you try to configure the loco? Will it appear as DCC or still as mfx?

If you want enable mfx and DCC,yours CS2 must stand in auto or mfx/DCC.
Remember...yours mfx decoder register first.
With only DCC protocol, yours mfx does not enable by register.

I see what you mean.

Locos configured as mfx in the database prior to turning off mfx will appear as mfx - also if you turn off mfx. The reason for this is that the Central Station cannot know anything about the loco being other than an mfx loco. You will have to add the loco as a DCC loco if you want it to run DCC.

On my Central Station 2, if you have mfx locos in your database, and turn off mfx, those locos will still appear as mfx, but they will not run and the Central Station 2 will not detect new mfx locos.

Hi there,

I'll give a shot deleting the BB from the list and let's see the outcome.

I tried with an aftermarket märklin decoder and it did't work.

Maybe both have to be disabled, the CS and the decoder itself.

Try setting CV50 Bit 3 to 0.
Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

You cannot disable mfx in factory-installed MäTrix decoders.
For Märklin decoders sold separately you have to disable mfx in the controller in order to disable it in the decoder.
