Hi everyone,

Thought I'd check in on this weekend's MEA meet now that I'm an east coaster- is anyone attending on Sunday? I'll be there and have a table to sell some extras I don't have space for after the move!

Lets try and catch up if so

How about some details about the meet. I can't seem to find anything abut it on the web, and what is supposed to be their website is so far out of date that it is totally useless.

If I had more I'd have posted it! here are all the details I know:

Yes, the European Train Show & Sale at Scranton's
Electric City Trolley Museum is this coming Sunday, the
26th. A wide variety of vendors have taken space along with
five operating layouts and a real trolley ride. Admission
is $5. which includes the museum. The trolley ride
is an additional $5 (10:30, Noon, 1:30 & 3).
The hours are 10am to 3pm.
The trolley museum is adjacent to Steamtown in
downtown Scranton and share the parking lot.

Hi everyone,

So I thought I'd post up a little recap of yesterday. Unfortunately I COMPLETELY FAILED to take images of the swap meet itself, but for good reason: I didn't exactly realize it was being held at a massive prototype train museum, and was totally distracted by the real trains..... Anyways, a bit about them both:

The meet was good fun! Inside the small (but very cool) electric trolley museum, it was a fun mix of wonderful people and some cool trains. Was really refreshing to see some G scale, N scale, and a lot of Z scale, which you don't get much of at the Eurowest meets (which are my only frame of reference/comparison). It was really a fun group of people who couldn't have been nicer to the new kid in town. What the event maybe lacked in larger or modular layouts- no space for them anyways- it made up for in very cool small layouts. A few of those Kato N scale glacier express sets in action were enough to tempt me even more on N scale. I keep swearing I'm going to sell mine, but after seeing those... No purchases at the swap meet, which was shocking, but then again maybe not so surprising considering the finance director was there with me for the first time! I did sell a few odds and ends at my table, which funded the new Roco 78383 AE 4/6 I ordered when I got home last night Flapper Drool

Now for the real surprise, I didn't exactly realize the meet was being held at steamtown national historic park in PA. I WAS NOT ready to encounter a big boy upon turning up at the front door! I'd have gone for the meet alone, but steamwown simply made it a can't-miss event for me. Worth a look on their website- tons of amazing rolling stock here, a fair amount of it running as well!
