I have always done my conversions using ESU magnets and Decoders (Lok Pilot - not MFX).
Usually used the existing armature unless it needed replacement.
I have bought a few high efficiency conversions for some F-7's.
One of my dealers recently had a sale on High Eff conversion sets so I bought some 60944s
for some 3048's I have (3). I am ignorant about what I got. Two motor covers and 2 armatures.
What to use? The original seems to have 7 tooth armatures and I now have a choice of 7 or 8.
The motor covers are what will fit I guess. As I am lazy, I thougt I would ask before I got started.

Help - Thanks,
Eric

Eric, the 3048 was never included into the conversion table, the brush plate is different but someone has produced a motorshield for this loco its just knowing or finding out who ? some members may recall or even know the producer. will search google and see if I can find it.
