Did found out that Rocos new glaskasten with the sounds cost €239,00 while Märklins without the sounds cost €230,00.
Nine euro difference!!!
But Rocos model arrives only in DCC.

Yes, that seems rather strange. It is a cute little loco though.

Is that the price for a three rail Roco?

Cool

IMHO, on the pictures I've seen, the Roco-model is very "plastic-looking".

And 2-rail.

Cool

Maybe the Roco version is made for blind 2-railers with DCC-controllers.

I don't think there are many of those on this forum.

It'll come one day, I'm sure. Locos that were considered too small for sound a few years ago now have sound available as a matter of course.

This assumes that sound is wanted, whether by deaf people or the rest of society.

I purchased a Glaskasten 36863 late last year. It is a nice little loco but it sounds like a coffee grinder when it is running. How so much motor noise can come from such a small loco is beyond me. Also, I don't know why Marklin even bothered with lights. They are ridiculously dim.

36863 do have metal chassic, plastic body and mfx but no sounds Price RRP 229.99 but some dealer will discount about 20% (about 175 EUR)

But Roco told dealers to keep RRP 239.00
