Hi all.
While we are on the subject of track here is one for you.

UserPostedImage

This is a 2ft plus 2ft-6in gauge dual track which enters a loop at the end of the run so the 2ft gauge has to swap sides in the loop.
The best part is that it is about 3 miles from my home and has Mallet tank locos plus many visiting locos including a Darjeeling Himalaya loco !
During most running sessions up to 18 locos can be in steam.

Here's a video of the line.

Another loco from the line is this which could be called a monster or mutation.

UserPostedImage

Standard gauge vertical boilered loco.

Regards, Colin.

DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Yeah, my thoughts too (also the covered bridge). It looks to me like a previous bridge has been washed away, as it appears to be sitting on concrete piers. I suspect that someone then figured the distance between the piers was such that an old railway coach made a nice cheap replacement bridge.

Here the diesel equivalent, RB 34482 Braunschweig - Wittingen (Mon-Fri) in 2003. The front with the BR 218 continued from Wittingen as RB 34484 to Uelzen, while the 628 DMU in the rear returned as RB 34483 to Braunschweig.

I am going to file this here. When an electrified mainline was blocked for some reason, diesels towed away entire trains with the electric loco.

I never worked out why they had those enormous cutouts on the side. I know that access is needed to lubricate everything, but these access areas just seem excessive.

In my school days I admired the English for their spleens, and can it become any weirder than this? Brandon Volk's Brighton and Rottingdean Seashore Electric Railway in England that ran through the shallow coastal waters of the English Channel between 1896 and 1901.
