The bar between loco and tender 39550 have broken off.

Sounds a bit drastic to remove the 39552 from your wish list. Looking at the pictures it looks like the loco could have been picked up with the tender being supported, and as a result the bar has bent and broken.

My German isn't good enough to go probing stummis forum to see if there is a story behind why it happened.

This happened to me on my Br34 (Bavarian B VI ). The coupling bar between loco and tender snapped when I was trying to take the top off the tender to access the decoder. I had to order a new bar and change it myself, which turned out quite a difficult job.

In this instance I'm sure that it was the owner being a bit heavy handed!

I still have not order yet. I will message to the person about what happened the bar broken off on 1st radius curved such as 24130 with/or heavy pulling pickupshoe tender with long freight stock, Or pick up loco out of package and forget handle with tender?

Once it happened to my BR38. The part is plastic and in case of accident it may happen.
It is replaceable and in my case it was not very difficult.
It doesn't seem to me that it is a strong enough cause to think in cancel the order (at all).

This is seems to me like a bad handling so this is not a reason to not have a locomotive that you like.

Picture 1-3 are related to the G5/5, picture 4 and 5 not I think.
I don't know what happened, didnt find a story in the G5/5 thread in stummis
