hi guys; i just came across a guy selling a ''marklin crane magnet''. my 7051 never had a mag. my questions are; is this the correct mag for the old analog 7051? i have checked the forum archives and found a post regarding digital control of the 7051 but no info on mag part numbers. another question is; how long can you energize the mag before it gets too hot and damages itself? here is a pic of the one for sale. mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, this is the magnet for 7051. Collectors would distinguish older and newer versions in a more brown or red colour and the older version with textile wires and the newer version with plastic-insulated wires. The version shown is a late one.
The retail-price in Germany is EUR 25.00 . Some offers on Ebay are much more expensive.

Regards

Markus

Mine never overheated however the longest it was on was for 10 minutes. When you energize the magnet the cabinet goes on so you can keep track how long it is on - Fred
