Dear Community: It seems that people have found satisfaction with various iOS train control apps. I live in the Android world (Kit-Kat on my Moto X and Lollipop on my Nexus tablet), and noticed that many of the apps discussed here are only available under Apple's iOS. I am temporarily living in DC, in an apartment with at most a transient spot for carpetbahn. Some of the useful work I can do is learning how to squeeze the most out of my new CS2, which can be done on a small transient layout. Thanks for your help, and as a computer science professor, I can tell you that software development at Apple is starting to impact its products. I expect Android, and the open model, to continue to dominate. Also, one of my former students is on the Android team at Google, and I have never met a member of the Apple software team. Not a scientific survey, but I know a lot of people, and this means to me that either the Apple group is small, or insular, or both.--MM

RemoteCS2 is for a PC I thought.

But I thought Marklin had ported their app to android as well. I know a friend who runs the app on an ipad, and thinks highly of it. IIRC the cost of the Marklin app is about 10 euro.

There is "Main Station" and "Mobile Station" both by Marklin, A$14 something and A$7 something respectively.

RemoteCS2 is by a third party and has "in app purchases", as to what they are who knows, I was concerned by the A$8 something EACH that is mentioned on PlayStore without any mention of what and how many there are.
Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

No, RemoteCS2 runs on Android devices - you are probably thinking of the RemotePC application that Marklin introduced this year. Yes, Marklin has ported the Mainstation app to Android.

Thank you all!! Remote CS2 works great. I was having trouble connecting, but configured the CS2 to have a fixed IP, and now I can run my trains from the kitchen, which is far away from my layout.--MM
