Hi
I was test running a HAG GTW 34-001-32 last night and when it was goin through a Marklin point that comes in the start sets it would stop dead for a second or 2 and then go again and when the point was set a different way this would not happen at all and on the second Marklin point it worked fine in either direction.

Hi,
It is a momentary short, which obviously does not cause your STOP function on the controller.
Look for a faint spark under the slider (or on wheels) while engine is going slowly.
Observe.
That will lead you to cause.

Depending on the type of decoder it could also be a momentary loss of contact, with the decoder reseting to speed step zero and slowly accelerating back to the set speed. This has ben cured on most recent decoders and was known as the Alzheimer's effect, because the loco forgets the speed it was running at.

I often get momentary losses of contact through turnouts, but on most locos it only results in a flicker of the lights. Try cleaning the tracks on that turnout thoroughly, and also run the loco back and forth through the turnout repeatedly. This usually works for me.

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Thanks
Now the the part 24088 that came with my mobile station 1 that you plug the ms into and the transformer and brings power to the track seems to have died the Mobile Station comes on but no power is coming to the track.Could buy 24088 but then it might be the transformer
Think i might treat myself to a Mobile Station 2 start set and might get point motors and the M3 60831 box.
Looking forward to wiring it all up.

The 24088 contains just a rectifier. So if the MS has power then most likely it's neither the 24088 nor the "transformer" or transformer, but the MS that is defective.

If only the output stage of the MS has failed then it can still be used as a slave with another MS.

Buying an MS2 to replace it is probably a good idea.
Regards
Tom
