Today 18th January Marklin NL placed rectification on the website for set 26596,five doubledeck coaches and electric loco.

The set will only contain 4 coaches,in line with the prototype.
Story goes that one coach has been printed twice(!),so be it.

Must say that sometimes 6 coaches or more were pulled,be it that the train would have a loco on both ends, and the coach with driverscabin skipped.

A large number of these double deck coaches have been completely refurbished by now to take part in regular intercity service, using a dedicated motorised unit.
The loco's series 1700 will be scrapped, after years of faithful service.

Which loco / motorised unit will then be used to replace the 1700 series?

No separate loco's anymore but coach like motorised units with limited passenger space over the motors.
These trains have a completely new interior and new color scheme on the outside.
They are in operation already.

Could only find Dutch Wikipedia story:

Hi Paul,

Let's hope that Märklin has read this and will take up the challenge to adapt its model in future. They seem to be more fond of very modern, era VI locomotives like the G2000 now, but obviously it will be more difficult to find customers for contemporary trains, as they mainly appeal to younger people, who have less cash to spare. It's easier to sell a beautiful S 2/6 than a G2000 to existing Märklin customers, and it's very hard to find new customers in a shrinking market. I con't collect era I, but I wouldn't mind an S 2/6 (or an S 3/6, which will probably be redesigned by Märklin in future). The G2000 looks very exotic ...

Best regards,
Mark
Best regards, Mark

I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock.

From the Wikipedia page i picked up that the total number of refurbished trains will be 50,with 50 motorised coaches, split in 30 times trains with 4 coaches and 20 trains with 6 coaches.
Servicespeed is 140 km/h.
The trains have a fixed composition of coaches and will not be split under normal circumstances.
