Wasn't sure if this came under "2015 NI Marklin" or "2015 NI Other" . you decide.....

Item LGB 70530 LGB-Startset CS2 DR raises a few intriguing questions

- is this the same CS2 we already know ?
- how backward compatible will the MTS support be ?
- - Both MTS decoders and the MTS controllers ? - e.g. can you utilise an old mouse.
- which decoder is actually being used ? (given the CS2 are we going to see mfx+ cab like features)

And, given that the outdoor world appears to be moving away from hardwire control to wireless control, where does this CS2 offering fit with LGB users?

Purely FYI - A bit more info

Code:
http://www.lgb.de/de/produkte/startpackungen/details.html?art_nr=70530

Shows "mfx" - not "mfx+", all-be-it ... "Locomotive for the first time with an mfx sound decoder" (Context = LGB)
Although, also shows the icon for "MZS"(MTS) decoder (this may just mean can be used by MTS Central Station in DCC mode).

The fact that a CS2 and 100VA transformer are included, does raise a question for me - "Why not for a 1-Gauge Stater Set as well?"
Note: Marklin RRPs make this a worthwhile financial exercise - however Dealers have far better rates for the CS2/60101 than Marklin state

Maybe they will wait to see how well this LGB set does, then release a G1 set with a CS2 later on.
