Hi all,

does any one know if the Modelbahnshow Merklingen exhibition layout near Ulm and Geislingen is still open.
I have tried contacting them by email and phone but no response.

Thanks

According to their website, they closed for good in November 2012:

Thanks for the quick reply, I suspected they were closed but was not sure.

I visited them in 2007 and was going to call in again after the Marklin Museum but now will try and find something else nearby.

Looks like the ETS shop in Stuttgart has gone also.

Cheers

1) Eisenbahn-Treffpunkt Schweickhardt (ETS) has two shops (both in that region), one in Waiblingen-Beinstein and one in Reutlingen.

2) Here a list of MRR layouts in Baden-Württemberg which are open to the public:

Märklin-World Titisee
Schluchsee

Quite enjoyed that one when we took friends there in 2010.

Yeah, it was looking quite tired when we were there in 2010.

Merklingen was a well thought out exhibition layout . We saw it on our first visit to Europe back in 98/99 . It was the play thing of the compressor manufacturer owner who had his business in the same building above the layout . I am curious as to what happened to it , sold off as a complete unit or broken down & sold in parts .
