Does anyone know what the real part number for replacements tires are for the Loco 37078 is? The manual says part #7153, but that does not fit. #7153 will fit 13 mm wheels but the 37078 has 18 mm drive wheels.

I have a Marklin 37072 and 7153 is also specified. I never had to replace one yet on that model but past experience I know you have to stretch quite a bit to fit them. Short of that you can contact Marklin. Good luck!

You can check a manual of another BR 78 to be sure that the 7153 is the right tire for your loco,

If you read the manual for BR 78 37073 you will see that the tires are again 7153 so i believe that is difficult Marklin did the same mistake in both manuals.

My manual and Marklin's web site has 7153 listed. When comparing the new tire to the wheel they do look too small at first and they have to be stretched quite a bit and I use two toothpicks to get the job done (I am always afraid to damage the new rubber with tweezers or anything with metal).

Searching around on the web I found that 7153 is suppose to fit 14mm to 18mm wheels. Good replace tire reference at http://www.ebay.com/gds/eBay-Guide-on-Marklin-Rubber-Traction-Tires-/10000000006744186/g.html.

7151 Rubber Tires for wheels of size D9.2mm.
7152 Rubber Tires for wheels of size D20, D22, D22.5mm.
7153 Rubber Tires for wheels of size D14, D16, D18mm.
7154 Rubber Tires for wheels of size D10, D12, D13mm.

Hi adelrs,

You've answered you own question here ! (to your satisfaction I trust) a good search ThumpUp

I have found that for some models of M Loks, it is not uncommon, to have to stretch the tyres a bit to make them fit Huh

New tyres are always great after old dirt or oil contaminated ones ThumpUp or ones that are missing Wink

When replacing the tyres on Steam Locos especially, it is a good idea to consult the Manual, and also have Marklin or equivalent tools for undooing the driving rod bolts ThumpUp
