The French Club Conflanais des Amis du Chemin de fer has a wonderful HO scale club layout covering 26 square meters and having 220 meters of track plus 53 turnouts. The origins date back to 1974. The center piece is a large station, Chambérieu, with seven platform tracks. This station, located at the junction of two lines, has an engine depot. A set of flyovers allows the separation of two mainlines, one leading to Switzerland, through a tunnel preceded by a snow shed gallery, and the other to Italy. The latter rises by a winding route, passes close to the village of St Luke Moûtier with its reproduction of the real Church of Auvers sur Oise, then crosses a valley with a viaduct before disappearing in a tunnel. Wow, that is a really nice layout. I had to look twice at the 3rd and 5th photos to determine if they were model or prototype.

When you need to look closely to find the little give-aways that show it is a model you know the modellers have done a good job.

Brilliant!

Among so many other things, it has the most realistic overhead wiring I have ever seen!
