By the time a loko gets rusted and weathered to this state, it is parked in a siding. The weeds are vying with the road number, windows are gone and many a hard part too. V300 001 became 230 001 in 1968 and served for an additional seven years before the DB tried to sell it to an Italian buyer. When scrapped in 1980 is when it would have finally looked so sad, certainly not as era 3 V300. What was M thinking?

Era 3
DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Looks a bit overdone, but on the other hand locomotives and coaches can look pretty nasty during European wintertime, with rain, snow and sleet mixing up with raildust and overhead currentlines debries.
Believe this was a very small series for German Marklin Shops only.
The freely available model looked cleaner.
In contrast, locomotives going to the scrapyard can sometimes look pretty clean!

Hi all

I obtained a V200 a few years ago looking very similar to the ebay model. However I paid only £5 for mine and the patina is real not sprayed on.LOL
