Hello
Can someone help me identify this old cannon?!
It is incomplete and damaged. If more pictures or measures are needed, please request.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Thanks!
Dangerous not so much, as it is incomplete and damaged, but if fully functional, should be very dangerous indeed.
Do you think this is the right Topic to post it?
Thanks again.

Hi Faneco,

Märklin made very large variety of such cannons. It would be very useful to know the total length.

Regards

Markus

Hello
It has around 20cm from barrel to the other end. And around 8cm high.
I have been trying to find a picture of another one like this for 2 months now, also have a couple of helpers at Ebay forum and none has came up to a similar one, nor picture or reference.
They believe this is from the XIX century and a very rare model...
Please help me!
Thanks in advance.

As Markus has mentioned, these items have featured for a number of years. I have attached some scans that may be helpful. Note that the earlier drawings were usually quite close to the original, but some variation is to be expected. I note that the wheel spokes for example can be quite different as the models get larger so this would be one thing to watch for in comparisons.

The attached scans are from 1905 English, 1911 French, 1924 & 1932 German. Artillery items remained in the catalogue until about 1940 but yours could of course be much earlier.

Sadly I don't (yet) have any earlier catalogues to refer to

Hello again
Thank you for you help.
Fidelio 8040 seems to be very similar to mine...
I have found something that could help... i have asked for help, but the forum/blog has some demands before ID's can be made...

I really would like to know if this could be prior to 1900.
Thanks again.
