Dutch railways NS are in the final stages of price negotiation with Spanish train builders CAF,says our national press today.
Deal covers 120 new commutertrains for a total of Euro 500,000,000.-,delivery from 2018.
Spanish members may wish to comment.
To me it sounds like good news.
Have more than you show,speak less than you know (Shakespeare).

My guestimate is they will look like the latest type Sprinter in use by NS,a comforable and light type of train.
Please google on CAF trains and look at the trains they make,all sorts,from high speed to underground city trains.
Press also reports that NS will ask for offers for new intercity trains,to be operational as from 2020 or so.

I indeed saw this picture on the site of CAF but i do not think it is this train our NS are after,it looks rather "unDutch",a bit hard to explain really.
Our latest type "Sprinter" has a very sleek design,inside and outside,a bit like the DB regional trains i saw in Cologne.
I am sure CAF will be able to supply the type of trains fit for the Dutch eye.
Below the current NS Sprinter,a fast and light train used for commuter traffic around the big cities,the interior is also very light but still comfortable,the only problem with these trains is the lack of toilets,it caused a debate in our national parlement to have them installed in the new trains!

Over the weekend,NS have stated that the supplycontracts for new trains have been signed.
CAF will supply 118 electric trains type Civity,operational as from late 2018 onwards.
In addition,Stadler will supply 60 trains type Flirt,operational as from late 2016 onwards.
A major step ahead i would say.

Just an artists impression of the CAF Civity for NS,nothing final.
I have my doubts about the lowered door arrangements,these will be too low for most Dutch platforms and will need adjustment.
Also the colorscheme is just a guess.
Anyway,nice trains for the purpose.

Selected day to day clients of NS were invited at the factory for a preview.
Must say it is looking attractive but i have my doubts about the light materials used for the interior.
In Holland nowadays you have to build equipment from hardened army steel before it gets destroyed by retarded people.

Cause is a total lack of sanctions in our liberated society.
People get away with it because apparently there is no budget to pay a policeforce day and night.
If it is their own stuff they protect it with their life.
If it is public stuff they think they can destroy it at will.
There is hardy any train in The Netherlands without "artwork",inside and out.
Some retarded zombies even put their achievements on Youtube.
The other day two piano's were destroyed at two different NS stations,well something tells me that putting piano's in a public place in Holland is asking for trouble,apparently decision makers still have faith in humankind......

I come from a different time,my mum and dad teached me never to touch anything not belonging to me.
