Hello,

I have more signals 89401 in the Z scale.
Now I want connect this to a "eletronical" modul and the question is simple :

Is the "motor" of this signal with a automatic limit or not ?
My "eletronical" modul don't stop to send power with the signal is closed. If the signal 89401 don't stop hiself, he will burnd.

I'm not english spoker and I hope that you will undertand what I mean :-)

Thanks you

JMS

Hi JMS,

Welcome to the forum. I don't quite understand your issue, but if you go to this site:

http://www.lctm.info/Biblioteca/Libros/index.htm

there are a number of documents covering Marklin signals - maybe one of them may be able to give you the information that you need.

Kind regards,
C

Hi JMS,

Welcome to the forum.

Märklin catalog description for 89401 Semaphore Home Signal:

Below-Baseboard Mechanism
Slow Motion Semaphore Movement

I think that having the Slow Motion Movement it should have a sort of limit switch to stop the movement.

I do not have Z-scale models, so this is only my guess.

If you have a multimeter, set it for current measures and connect it in serie to the cable for the stop position (or the proceed position).

Press the button for the corresponding movement and continue pressing it after the semaphore has reached its final position: if you still read on the multimeter a value of current, the semaphore has NOT a position limit switch and the coil burns if you power it continuosly.

Hope this could help you.

Cheers

Renato
