Due to poor running conditions on the Reeperbahn it's time to clean the tracks again Sad This seems to happen about once a year with my M track. I wonder if this could have been prevented if I used C or K track? So far I have used Goo Be Gone (or Goo Gone) which was recommended by Lou Lewis, a retired Marklin repair specialist in Park Ridge, Illinois. Investing in track cleaning car would not help much as the shadow yards and storage tracks need to be cleaned also.

Thanks for the tip but I prefer Goo Gone then lighter fluid as it is nonflammable. However I will look into Track Magic. When I clean my wheels a toothpick seems to work just fine (compared to fingernails).

Goo gone is an excellent cleaner, but not possible to get down here.. Lighter fluid is not my preferred choice, but it does evaporate very quickly down here so the risk is low..

Hello!

I always recommends the CMX wagon, filled with isopropyl alcohol.

I'm using it for years, without regrets.

Cheers,

Walter

Hi Walter

This looks like an interesting cleaner. How did you modify the skid for the Marklin 3 track system?

Hi Mike!

No modifications...

The middle of the fabric pad it's always the first to be gone... but stay there for several times running.

Just fill the tank with alcohol, and left running for sometime on each track. All three rails are cleaned as expected.

I agree that it's not a cheap wagon, but worth every dollar. Meanwhile, it's a heavy wagon, so it runs alone with the Lok (even pulled or pushed).

Cheers,

Walter
