I just bought 2 Faller houses '202' from the 1950/60 series 'Siedler Häuschen'
A first version from the mid fifties with a wooden base and a bit later model with a plastic base.

Usually when you see these 202's on Swat meets or ebay, the pergola is missing, but I found two that were complete.

Although the 'Siedler Häuschen' were simple basic models, some Faller homeworkers could transfer them in real masterpieces of art by painting them in lovely colors and adding flowers and such. Soon I will try the same on these models.

Because the paint job on my 1950's #202 villa was a bit sloppy and the colors of the bushes had faded, I restored her today.

I gave her fresh paint and new vegetation, of course in the 1950's Faller homeworkers style.

I love it that you can apply the vegetation pasta, drink a cup of coffee, and then paint the the flowers on it, because the paste is dry in 15 minutes.

The first two pics were taken before the restoration.

Hey Marco

Nice job, well done! The houses seems rather tiny for H0? I guess this is normal for models of that age?

What is vegetation pasta?

Hi Søren,

Yes, Faller #202 is a small villa.
All villa's from the Faller 'Siedler Hauschen' series are small, so one could create a small village that took little space, because back in the day
most mrr layout were small.

Most (all?) mrr Faller, Kibri, Vollmer model structures are still scale 1:95 or 1:100, also the modern houses.
Some modelers made their own 1:87 houses or stations of cardboard or plastic, only to find out that those look ridiculous and way too big on a H0 mrr layout.

Vegetation paste is a mix of 'Plasticol', 'Nitrolöser' and green Faller litter. (See here: LINK)

With this paste you can sculpt bushes, window flower boxes...etc on vintage models.
