It seems like I remember a post on this forum from a fellow in the Emirates. That is sort of 'next door'. My son worked there for 18 months and said that there are many Brits
there. Maybe they brought some Marklin with them.

sorry just missed you.
I left the Oman nearly 30years ago!
I wasn't doing trains then, lots of dingy sailing instead?
There used to be a big pommy expat community, nearly all oil people.
Not sure if there are any railway types there.
You must go up to Jeble Shams its fantastic, and go turtle watching, and see the WW1 submarine. Gosh there is so much to see!!

Adrian is right, you do get around....... BigGrin Oman is definitley the nicest place in the region. Have fun there.
