I tried to pull with my E 60 with bell shaped armature motor a Märklin BR 81 (full metal loco). The question is, will the small and not very strong Faulhaber motor stop or will the wheels slip?

Look here what happens:

Hi,

Could you add some extra weight inside of the loco body if it is possible? Some lead or other heavy material to add traction.

Regards,
Janne

Hello Janne,
that's difficult, because there is not much space:

Maybe on the right side between the Faulhaber and the metal bow and on the right side of the bow. This will give more weight on the drive shaft with the rubbers (on the picture the third axle from left side.

But, it is important that the motor will not be blocked by too much traction. This will be the death for the Faulhaber motor.

Good looking modifications ThumpUp . It must run really smoothly with that Faulhaber motor. May I ask you how much does it weight now? My 3157 with 60760 decoder and 5 pole DCM motor with ball bearings weights only 195 grams and has often traction problems when I try to pull longer freight trains with it. I could add some weight into it...

Hello Janne,
the total weight like shown in the video is 215g, only. The BR81 is 385g heavy!

But I get some anglers plumb the next days.

Tank loco you did tested by pull weighs about 385 grams...!?
It should equal about 20-25 wagons to pull.
And besides...tank loco do have traction tyres too.
It makes worse by testing pulling tractive.
