I have just bought a boxed Marklin 3430 which should be a Delta. I attach a photo of the decoder for your assistance. My MS2 does not recognise it.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

I was too quick to ask, this is an older version of the Delta where the address is set by soldering.

Thanks all.

Hi Sean,

Now if you know the address of the locomotive, simply input it in your MS2 and you will be able to control it.

Cheers

Thanks Renato,
The MS2 database loads it as address 24, and as the address is soldered I have to assume that is what it is. Unfortunately nothing happened when I tried it out, so will investigate further.

Thanks again

Sean

Hi Sean,

And if the owner decided to change the address desoldering and resoldering?

Only one remote possibility, but it could have happened...

Cheers

Always possible, soldering seems VERY neat but will continue investigating.

Cheers

For an address table with the old solder bridge Delta - see https://www.marklin-user...Digital/DIdeltaaddr.html

Photo shows that it should be 24 indeed...

Just out of curiosity Juhan, that page you list on it is a reference to "Dr König's digital site", its gone "poof" and wondering if you know of another source ?

Sorry for butting into Sean's thread. Blushing
Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

Cheers Sean,

I was just about to post that link, lucky I checked first.

A awful lot of really interesting information for "Delta" and other stuff on that site but a lot of dead links as well. Could be worth while someone with more brains than me to see what's worth trying to salvage from it before it all trickles away.

Prefer the Barossa ones myself...... before I stopped drinking a few years back Crying

Renato,
Had a red wine to loosen myself to start.

Cleaned and oiled things, with a gentle nudge, off it went, a bit hesitantly initially but soon ran well and at top speed. It looked as if it hadn't been run for a while, so it needed a bit of TLC.

I will get some spare bulbs and that should solve the problem with the non working light.

Cheers
Sean

Hi Sean,

So it was only a mechanical trouble, not electronic (decoder).

Glad to know all is working now.

Enjoy it ! BigGrin

Cheers

Renato
