I saw one of these in a Swiss shop yesterday and immediately decided to buy it (I fell in love with the machine green version of the Ae 8/14 already when it appeared, but due to other priorities I kept postponing this particular purchase).

Indeed a nice-looking model, and thanks to the two Softdrive Sinus motors it also runs nicer than any other of my Marklin models (with the exception of the De 6/6 Seetal baby crocodile and perhaps also the Ee 3/3 shunter). I am happy with this unit! ThumpUp

Hello Pa-Pauls, I have 39590 in Machinery green & although it is a fictitious loco I do love the colour scheme & it is a smooth good runner with the large twin old C-sine motors. I also have 37591 with three panto-graphs & 37593 with two panto-graphs. Both have ESU Mfx Loksound decoders fitted to them. But I must agree with Unholz in saying that the small brown Seetal is my favourite. Now if you have a bit set aside you might like to get your hands on the rare #39591. I know I would just love to have it.

Hi DaveB, the machinery green version 39590 is not fictitious, it ran in that livery in the 1950's. The fictitious one is the brown unit 39591.

Unholz, I stand corrected. I am fully aware the brown one was fictitious but in brown it is just stunning & I wish I had one. Could you please find a picture of it running in that livery. I am only aware of the fact that Ae 8/14 Nr. 11'852 ran in a different colour green back in 1940.

One of my favourite SBB YouTube clips is the Ae 8/14 (hope ok to put in topic) here is "Machinery Green" one:
- they are huge.
