Good morning people. I have a question for you. I know I cant run Marklin stock on dc track , but can I run Roco dc coaches on Marklin track or would I have to change wheels. Dont ask why I would even have Roco coaches, but they came with a load of Marklin stuff. Thanks in advance. Eddie

Hi!
My Roco coaches run with "DC" wheel sets on Märklin C track without any problems.
Contact tracks and level crossing will not work with "DC" wheel sets.

It seems to depend on the coaches.

I have a couple of the old 1:100 length Roco centre-entrance coaches which derailed constantly on C-track, changed the wheels for their own AC ones and no problems. It can be a bit of a detective job finding the right wheels for something which went out of production years ago, I found someone selling new/old stock packs and also bought a spare set for when I add another coach to complete the train.

Weird part is that they got the tooling for these from Rowa. I have a few Rowa coaches which run perfectly on C-track with no alterations!

The Roco DC coaches have a plastic core on one wheel with a metal ring. Some times the ring is not properly seated on the plastic core and other times, the plastic core is not aligned for the correct spacing for either DC or AC operation, which can cause derailments on either system. If this happens, all you have to do is spin the axle to see if the wheels spin true and you can easily pop out an axle and match the wheel spacing to other axles.
