Hi guys!

I have a question regarding running consists with the CS2 and Ecos2.

I'm considering getting one of the above mentioned units and would like to know how the following scenario would work before pulling the trigger.

I take two locos that are speed matched to each other to avoid see-sawing, couple them to each other as a consist in the CS or Ecos. The consist will appear as a "loco" on one of the screens. The first loco in the consist will be "boss" when it comes to running.

And now to the question. Will I be able to "call up" the "slave" loco on the other side of the screen and then control the functions of that loco in the consist? Not the speed control but sound and lights? Or is this loco "locked" because it's in a consist?

Since I run a number of Swiss locos and among these some of the newer Roco Re 4/4 locos that have extensive lighting functions it would be nice to be able to for example turn the headlights off and just have the rear marker light on the "slave" locos as it's how they are run in real life.

Your feedback will be most appreciated!

Best regards!

Emil

Hi Emil!

To control functions in two locomotivs with consist.
1.The first locomotiv has adress as control while the second is slave.
But both of locomotivs have functions at once when you use the first adress.
For exemple...two steam locomotivs with whistle.
When you press the function for the whistle...both of the locomotivs start whistles.
So if you only want the first steam locomotiv have whistle, you must first swap function whistle off in the second locomotive before you multiple consist locomotivs.
2.I recommend same locomotivs as consist, since it´s hard to program same speed curves with two difference locomotivs because they don´t have same speed curves,if not less you are good to equal same speed curves by program.
