In our trains forums we have read some critics and also thanks to some of our suppliers.
Well, this time I want to give a high score to Technical Service Marklin.
A few days ago I had a problem with the motherboard of the set Marklin 60947 decoder MSD. This was a problem welding of wires lights, which made keeping lights always on, both the front and back.
I commented on this and other forums (with the subject "Problem with motherboard Marklin 60947") and as always I got valuable answers, but without positive results.
Finally I moved the problem to Technical Service Marklin and his response was: "we will send you a complete new decoder".
I do not intend to advertise the marka, but these performances deserve recognition and I want to show it, here as well.

Probably they have had several similar incidents with a certain batch of decoders or so, and replace them without question.

Product quality control is a real difficult thing when you have outsourced the electronics production to the "most economic" producer,
since the producer has to maybe do some shortcuts on QC and that gives some quality issues just to make a profit by manufacturing it...

On the other hand it bites back at the producer since I'm sure Märklin will demand replacements for faulty products from there...
Which in turn is in a balance the producer has calculated from the start, like eg 10% faulty is ok - we still make money...

Ahhh, the wonders of modern economy... In the old days, manufacturers took pride of their products and actually
could be ashamed and even sometimes in denial when a faulty product happened to slip by the QC...

Hmmmm, maybe I should email them about the mSD decoder I have that only drives forward - no reverse - I think the output driver components burnt out, even though there are no shorts with the wiring (tested with another decoder).

Simply click on the "Edit" button on the top of your post and after finished, click on the "Save" button on the bottom of the edited post.

You can make the same procedure if other things to be corrected are found.

Cheers

It doesn't hurt to send them a quick email. Who knows, you might be lucky and get a new one in the post!
