Does anyone know the paint color for M track? (brown and white) and the catenary base color? 1960.
Thanks
Jerry

Hi Jerry,all,
Take both items down to a paint store(or big box store) and try and match up the colors get several color cards you think match.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't need a quart of paint. I thought perhaps over the last 50 years, with everyone's experience, someone might know the 'formula' to mix up a little Testors. I am actually surprised Marklin never had 'touch-up' paint.
Thanks all
Jerry

Hi Jerry,all,
You don't have to buy a quart, many stores can give you a small sample of the colors, these are $2-$3 a piece and about 7oz and have seen smaller samples.
Then again if your hobby shop stocks Testors take the pieces down and find a close match. With M-track even though you may want it match perfectly, then some experimentation maybe in order.
I don't think M ever 'sold' paint.
You could always weather it and problem solved!BigGrin LOL

Actually, they did sell touchup paint. In the mid 80s I bought small metal tins of about 5 oz of red, black, blue, green and silver. The silver went bad a few years ago, but I still have the others.

With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

No only do most paint shops sell samples cheaply. At Home Depot, you can bring down a catenary poll, have them scan it, and the match the colour perfectly. They can do this with tiny paint chips, so a poll or a base should work fine.
