This is a quick review of the 26th Canberra Model Railway Expo held in Canberra (Australia) last weekend.
This expo seems to get larger every year. It has over 50 exhibitors of which around two thirds were layouts and the others retailers. The main themes for the layouts were Australian themes but there were several American and British ones as well.
There seems to be an increasing number of N gauge.
This is just to give a quick glimpse. I didn’t take my camera so took a few snaps with my phone.

The first one is called Yendys and is my favourite as it reflects the character of a Sydney suburban line.

And finally, the only Marklin layout. I think this was set up to demonstrate the simplicity of the Marklin wiring system.

To get the photos to display correctly in the thread you need to compress / downsize them to about 250kb. You can use a program such as paint.net to do that.

Many thanks Bigdaddynz,
I've been an observer on this forum for a while a only just started posting and I've always enjoyed seeing the photos displayed within the thread.
Hopefully this will do it. All the photos reduced to less than 250 kb.
John

Hi John

Thanks for your photos. I attended the Expo with friends on the Saturday. The layout Yendys is one of our favourites as well. I agree with your assessment that the Expo appears to grow larger each year. This year's was one of the best.

Geoff

Hi John, unfortunately these will not display directly as they are in Adobe pdf format. They need to be jpeg's (.jpg)

I've done the first one for you.

Thanks Geoff,
I do like the layouts which capture a feeling of place and/or time.

Thanks Bigdaddynz.
I'll make sure it's sorted next time,

John

Hi Mulldog,
Thanks for the tip. I saw the 3016 in the workshop last year. I didn't know about the trips tomorrow (Sat). I'm going to make an effort to go out and see it. No I'm not a member of any club as yet
John
