As they already have pantographs and roof wires and insulators, seems obvious they will not be robot (and probably hand) painted further.

Or it is a test run as previously stated or it is some strange limited series that for sure I will not buy (even though my football team's color is blue).

I only have on order the Insider. I am curious to compare it to the 3022.1 (E94) of 1964. I also would like a lot see the new E93 pull 2200+ wagons to show that it is a better puller than its older sister. (I am not so sure of this as my new dish washing machine is of he same brand as the previous one, it is the same level and dries the dishes worst than the 15 years old one... - this type of evolution will make future trains be pulled by horses).

Best regards,
Miguel

Hi,

Here is Marklin's reply to their riddle.
"Here it comes! The Insider model E93. A glimpse at our assembly in Göppingen: There the pre-production batch is running at the moment. The colorings and other details differ from the original model."

If we were to translate it better, we would say "This is a pre-production test batch only. The colorings and other details will differ in the production Insider model"

Great to see their production includes a batch for test purposes.
With different colouring so they do not get mixed up in their marketing distribution.

I guess Marklin would never sell those test models, or maybe they are dismantled and go back to the start of the process line..
I wonder if Marklin could auction off a few test models, and creat a lot of interest in their brand name.

Imagine a Big Boy in orange paint, how much would that fetch?????

regards
Kimball

There is a slot car manufacturer in Spain. Their name is Cartrix. It is a small single owner company. He has been known to give preproduction models to friends. Every so often one will find its way to eBay.es. I think the only way one of these will find their way out of Marklin is under someone's coat.

But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

As a side note, was the E93 ever painted in blue and cream? I have the blue and cream version of the E94 (3422) and it really suits this locomotive, in my opinion.

Maybe the E93s did not last long enough in service to make it to Era IV? Wikipedia don't mention when they were withdrawn.
