I recently purchased a Union Pacific Caboose from Marklin, Thinking that I could change the couplers and wheels to operate on a 2-wire system. However to my surprise the couplers are attached to the trucks and appear to not be convertible. did Marklin change their design? In the past you couple replace with the Kadees and Trix AC wheels.
I've never seen this before.
I think I'm out of luck on this one.

I think he purchased the 45702 caboose or the one included with the 37629 loco. It has very similar trucks than the old passenger cars (4026, 4051). Maybe Kadee has trucks with an extension long enough to place a Kadee coupler.

If you want to keep NEM couplers, it beats me.

This caboose is the metal one like the caboose we find with 37618-37629 F7 locomotives and the 4570,4777,45704 older metal cabooses.I think is not possible to change the wheels and the couplers to your caboose. You can change the wheels of the new plastic cabooses and the number of the wheels are.
